Last-minute Reach pleas continue to emerge

Furious lobbying on the EU Reach chemical policy is continuing before the European parliament votes on Thursday morning. Europe's main chemical industry trade union, Emcef, wrote to MEPs supporting the Sacconi-Nassauer compromise on Reach's registration phase. The American chamber of commerce to the EU (Amcham), called for agreement on rules that can be harmonised with other regulations around the world. EU environmental and public health associations warned that the Sacconi-Nassauer compromise would undermine Reach's health and environmental objectives.
