Ozone-depleter quotas halved in 2007
Consumption of ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) for "essential uses" exempt from a general EU ban will drop by half this year, according to quotas published last week by the European commission. The exemptions cover the use of various ODSs in medical and laboratory applications.
