France outlines future environmental policy

French president Nicolas Sarkozy outlined a wide-ranging plan to reduce the country's environmental impact on Thursday. Mr Sarkozy was closing two days of negotiations between government officials, industry and NGOs on France's future environmental policy.

The Danish government presents the programme of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union ‘Europe at work'

Denmark took over the presidency of the EU on 1 January.
