Austria loses waste tax discrimination case
The European court of justice has confirmed that Austria was wrong to overrule a local authority which granted a tax exemption on fees for treating imported Italian waste derived from contaminated land. The case was brought against the federal government by the Frohnleiten municipality to an Austrian court, which in turn referred it to Luxembourg.
