Council backs EU green public purchasing goal
Government ministers have backed a non-binding EU target to base half of all public tendering procedures across Europe on environmental criteria by 2010. The goal was proposed by the European commission in July as part of plans for a greener EU product policy (EED 16/07/08). It is based on the achievements of the best performing member states in 2006.
