World climate meeting opens in Poznań
Government representatives from the 186 parties to the UN framework convention on climate change (Unfccc) began a fortnight of talks on Monday in Poznań, Poland. The event marks the half-way point to a new global climate treaty through a process launched in Bali last year (EED 17/12/08) and set to culminate in Copenhagen in 2009.
