Portugal wants to boost waste-to-energy capacity

Portugal's government has unveiled a strategy to increase the amount of waste burnt at waste-to-energy incinerators and to reduce landfill disposal. By 2013 around 1.2 million tonnes of solid urban waste could be used to produce energy annually, it estimates.
