Leinen becomes new environment committee head
German socialist MEP Jo Leinen was confirmed as the new chair of the European Parliament's environment committee on Thursday. He replaces former EPP member Miroslav Ouzky who is returning to the committee as a member of the new European Conservatives and Reformists group.
