First phase-out deadline for inefficient lamps looms
The first stage of a three-year phase-out of incandescent and low-efficiency halogen light bulbs in the EU will apply from September, starting with a ban on clear bulbs of 100 watts or more. The ban will be extended to lower-wattage bulbs in subsequent stages.
