French minister offers CO2 tax breaks for hauliers

French transport minister Dominique Bussereau has proposed to partially exempt road hauliers from a new carbon tax in 2010 as part of negotiations over wages. Talks with the sector's representatives were still ongoing when ENDS went to press on Thursday.
