Intelligent energy programme sets priorities
Support for energy efficiency in buildings, industry and transport, alternative fuels and renewable energy both in Europe and in developing countries have been set as key actions for the EU's "Intelligent energy for Europe" funding programme (EED 19/06/03). Improving cooperation on finance, monitoring and evaluation will also take centre stage. An executive agency is being set up by the European Commission to implement the programme. During its five-year mandate, it will manage specific projects, distribute funds and gather information. See key actions and Commission decision.
