Danes sign up to green computer labelling
Danish government agencies, trade bodies and computer firms have reached an agreement on energy labelling for computer products, Politiken newspaper reported on Thursday. The article reports that low-energy hardware can save up to DKr1000 (€135) in reduced energy consumption over a product's lifetime. It identifies five major companies - Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell, IBM, Apple and Fujitsu Siemens - as signing up to the scheme after negotiations with the national procurement service, energy saving fund and national IT industry association. Energy consumption data will also be posted on a new website. See Politiken article.
