European animal feed safety rules updated
Three new EU laws have been published in the bloc's official journal updating aspects of animal feed safety rules. Directive 2005/6/EC updates rules on analysing feeds for undesirable substances. Directive 2005/7/EC clarifies rules for determining levels of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs in feeds. Directive 2005/8/EC relaxes a limit on the heavy metal mercury in calcium carbonate used as a feed material and deletes a linkage between fluorine limits in feeds and their phosphorus content. See directives 2005/6/EC, 2005/7/EC and 2005/8/EC.
