UK climate policies for business "not working"
UK policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from business and industry are not working, according to an analysis by environmental think-tank the Green Alliance. The group found "little link" between strong government rhetoric on climate change and the policies it has brought forward. A survey of the effectiveness of individual policy initiatives reveals a "confusing picture", the report says. Though a drive to promote renewables was "working well", it said, a carbon tax was "just not strong enough to have much of an effect." See Green Alliance press release and the report.
