Beuc air fresheners response statement out
European consumer group Beuc has issued a statement defending its claim that air fresheners pose real health risks to consumers following a court hearing in the Netherlands on Monday (EED 22/02/05). "We stand by our results", the group said on Wednesday. Beuc's statement rejects each of four studies cited by the company as evidence that its test results were faulty or had been misinterpreted. In an attempt to rebut allegations of secretiveness, the group has also published correspondence with US firm Sara Lee, which brought the court action. See statement.
