Plan for greener UK food industry published
Britain's environment ministry has released a plan for making the food and drinks industry more sustainable. Published on Monday, the strategy sets out a voluntary framework for environmental and other improvements by the sector, including targets and key performance indicators. In a related development, on Tuesday a UK parliamentary committee criticised a voluntary environmental programme run by pesticide manufacturers (EED 31/10/00).
