Britain hosts G8 clean energy summit
Energy researchers from the G8 group of industrialised countries and five developing nations gathered in Britain last week to discuss collaboration on clean energy technologies. The meeting was part of a series on climate change being held during the UK's presidency of the G8 (EED 04/02/05) (EED 18/03/05). The government hopes the meetings will culminate in a joint statement on climate change when G8 heads of government meet in July (EED 20/04/05). The Oxford meeting was a follow-up to the Evian action plan on sustainable energy (EED 04/06/03). See G8 meeting details.
