Denmark tackles non-road diesel emissions
Denmark is to introduce tougher emissions standards for new mobile non-road machines, including for the first time locomotives, the environment ministry said on Monday. The aim is to cut particulates and NOx output 40-90%, bringing new diesel-powered engines into line with the so-called Euro 4 standard in the next 5-6 years. "It is anticipated that the new standards in most cases will entail the use of particle filters, and [of] catalysers for reducing... NOx", the ministry said. Similar regulations for tractors are to be introduced separately. See press release.
