Danish NGOs deplore "watered-down" Reach
Five NGOs including Greenpeace and WWF have urged the Danish government to oppose what they see as the likelihood that the EU will adopt a "watered-down" version of the Reach chemical reform, Danish media reported on Thursday. On present trends, too few chemicals will be registered, consumer information and protection will be inadequate and provisions for substitution by safer alternatives will be weak, a Greenpeace spokesman told national news agency Ritzau. The Confederation of Danish industries denounced the NGOs' arguments as "dead wrong and irresponsible". See Danish radio and Randers Amtsavis newspaper.
