Commission consults on greener cities strategy
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on plans for an EU strategy on the urban environment due this autumn. Citizens of EU and associated countries have until 21 September to give views on environmental quality where they live and on a range of options for improving it. Possible transport measures figure prominently, among them road pricing, bans on polluting vehicles and improving public transport. Respondents are also asked to say whether more information, financial incentives or penalties would most likely make them alter their behaviour. See consultation.
