More firms join Greenpeace chemicals pledge
Several more firms have pledged to phase out the use of suspect chemicals in their products following talks with Greenpeace, the environmental group announced on Thursday, four days before European parliament's environment committee votes on the EU's Reach chemical policy. "Decision makers should be inspired by these companies to vote for a strengthened Reach", the group said. Electronics firms Motorola and LG Electronics plus beauty companies L'Occitane, Melvitacosm and Alqvimia join several others that have already pledged to stop using chemicals such as musks, phthalates and brominated flame retardants (EED 29/04/05).
