Norway ups investment in greener energy

Norway's NKr677bn (€87.6bn) amended budget for 2006, announced on Thursday, earmarks an additional NKr35m for energy research and carbon capture and storage technology. "The government's vision is that Norway shall be an environmentally friendly energy nation and world leading when it comes to development of environmentally friendly energy", petroleum and energy minister Odd Roger Enoksen said in a statement. The environment ministry's budget increases by NKr29m to NKr3.43bn, including NKr13m for local authority projects.
