EU promises more transparent decisions

The European commission is to launch a new push to increase transparency over lobbying, funding decisions and rules of conduct, the EU executive announced on Wednesday. It promised to issue a green paper early next year setting out proposals in more depth. Alter-EU, a coalition of environmental and other NGOs campaigning for greater EU transparency welcomed the move. But it also reiterated its call for mandatory lobbying disclosure rules.
