UK announces cash boost for electric vehicles

Car buyers in Britain will receive "help worth up to £5,000" (€5,650) when purchasing the first plug-in hybrid electric cars that are expected to hit showrooms in around 2011, under a scheme announced by the UK government on Thursday.
