Clarification – British public opinion on green taxes

The Green Fiscal Commission has asked ENDS Europe to point out that, contrary to what the headline in this article (EE 09/06/09) indicated initially, the British public do support the concept of environmental tax reform, but they did express concerns about its social and economic impacts. The commission also says that, while the starting point for its study was a survey carried out in 2007, it was mainly based on interviews with a representative sample of the public at the end of 2008.
