MEPs back extra €1.5bn for energy in 2010 budget

The European Parliament has backed a call for allocating an extra €1.5bn to strategic energy projects as part of the EU's economic recovery plan. MEPs rejected member states' demand that the money should come from other programmes within the EU budget.
