Canadian firm freezes Bulgarian mining project

Canadian firm Dundee Precious Metals has frozen plans to use cyanide to extract gold at the Chelopech mine in Bulgaria after a national court rejected an environmental impact assessment that backed the project. Green groups welcomed the news on Tuesday.
