EU rejects almost all new Italian air quality pleas

The European Commission has rejected 11 out of 12 new Italian requests for more time to meet air quality targets for particulate matter (PM10), confirming its tough stance on derogations. The EU executive rejected most of Italy's earlier requests last year.
