European Court puts Spanish coal-aid plan on hold

Using rarely-exercised powers, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) yesterday issued an injunction temporarily preventing the Spanish government from implementing its controversial plan to subsidise the use of domestically produced coal in electricity generation.
