Spanish judge reduces record fine for coal mine

A record €129m fine, imposed on Spanish company Minero Siderúrgica de Ponferrada (MSP) in 2006 for illegally operating an opencast coal mine in a protected area, has been reduced on appeal to €800,000 by a court in León, northern Spain.
