Dutch contaminated land spending to rise
The high cost of cleaning-up contaminated land has prompted the Dutch environment ministry to announce that it will provide more funds to companies that volunteer to spend some of their own money decontaminating sites. An extra €1.13bn (DF2.5bn) will be made available between now and 2023. The ministry will fund between 30-70% of clean-up costs with the companies that own the sites providing the rest.
