Finland attacked over "destructive" forestry
Finland's state forest service is continuing to log forests of high conservation value, including areas certified as sustainably managed under the Pan-European Forest Certification (PEFC) umbrella, Greenpeace has alleged. In a statement, the group details instances of what it says are unacceptable forest practices. The NGO published a detailed critique of environmental standards in Finnish forestry earlier this year (EED 30/01/01). See Greenpeace Finnish forestry pages and press release.
