EU scientists issue revised GM crop opinions
Two amended scientific opinions on Aventis' controversial "event T25" genetically modified (GM) maize were released by the European Commission today. An official stressed that the only changes involved an acknowledgement that modified genetic material is present in pollen, though not expressed. In both cases, the committee maintains its previous conclusion that there is no evidence to indicate adverse effects on human health or the environment.
