Swedish EPA to focus on ozone depletion

The Swedish environment ministry announced today that the environmental protection agency has been instructed to intensify efforts related to ozone-depleting substances (ODSs). The EPA will be expected by 1 October 2002 to propose a method for quantifying the impact of national ODS releases and to provide comprehensive data on hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) releases. The ministry hopes to follow up with producer responsibility proposals for data collection. See press release.
