Norwegian green bureaucracy marches on

Norway's pollution control authority (SFT) is continuing to announce new policy decisions despite parliament remaining unable to form a new government following elections held nearly three weeks ago in which the ruling Labour party suffered one of the worst results in its history. Two announcements from SFT in recent days concern a proposed rationalisation of rules on ozone-depleting substances so as to combine seven separate statutes in one, and an expansion in the range of substances and materials classified as "special" waste.
