Irish condemnation likely over EU waste law
Ireland is heading for condemnation of its waste policies in the European court of justice after a judge advised on Thursday that Dublin had failed to create waste management plans required by a series of EU directives. The verdict will be largely symbolic as the country is close to complying with European Commission requests to submit the plans under the 1975 framework directive and laws on packaging and hazardous waste (EED 26/09/01).
