French sustainability indicator set proposed
The French environment institute (Ifen) has issued a list of about 300 sustainable development indicators for consultation. In cooperation with stakeholders, the institute says it wants to produce a more focused list of about 50 indicators by this summer, each of which should be measurable. Several other EU countries have already produced sustainability indicator sets, including the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. An EU-wide set of indicators was approved late last year (EED 04/12/01).
