Paper collectors and makers hail new standard

The European recovered paper association (Erpa) and European papermaking confederation Cepi have welcomed the adoption and ratification by standardisation body CEN of a European list of standard grades of recovered paper and board. Both bodies were involved in drafting the standards, which took over two years to complete. Erpa hopes widespread use of the list by paper collectors and processors will help its campaign to have recovered paper reclassified as a secondary raw material rather than waste (EED 08/04/99).
