Health clearance for UK mobile phone masts
Official tests carried out on 100 British mobile phone masts in response to widespread public unease over health risks from exposure to electromagnetic radiation has found them to emit radiation at levels at least 279 - and often thousands - of times lower than global and EU safety standards. All the masts tested were on or near schools. The standards tested against were issued in 1998 by the International commission on non-ionising radiation protection and adopted in Europe as an EU recommendation in 1999 (EED 11/06/99).
