Swedish sustainability strategy unveiled
Sweden yesterday reiterated its commitment to sustainability as a "comprehensive goal of government policy" which "embraces all dimensions: ecological, social and economic". Delivering its national strategy for sustainable development to parliament, the environment ministry said in a statement that the document applies to a wide range of "core areas" from conventional environmental issues such as climate change to "public health, working life, employment and welfare". The strategy forms the basis for Sweden's contribution to the Johannesburg world sustainability conference later this year. See press release and the strategy.
