EU bird conservation measures surveyed
Actions by EU states to apply the bloc's 1979 wild birds directive during the period 1996 to 1998 are reviewed in an official three-yearly report from the European Commission. The document surveys national developments related to each of the directive's principal objectives: maintaining the conservation status of species, preserving bird habitats and creating a network of special protection areas, regulating hunting, and promoting research.
