EU adopts new textile ecolabel criteria
The EU has approved stricter criteria for textile manufacturers wanting to display the bloc's flower ecolabel on their products. The new requirements also extend the label's coverage to include more fibre types and fibres for outdoor use. They were adopted after receiving support from all member states except Portugal, which voted against. The textiles ecolabel is by far the most popular in terms of the number of products that carry it, with 37 out of the 103 EU ecolabel awards that have been made. See new textile ecolabel criteria.
