Seville summit skates over environmental issues
EU leaders meeting in Seville this weekend reiterated the bloc's commitment to achieving success at the Johannesburg sustainability summit, following earlier adoption of a detailed EU manifesto for the meeting (EED 19/06/02). No other points of environmental policy interest were on the agenda. The Spanish presidency also submitted a progress report after talks to agree an energy taxation framework broke down earlier this month (EED 12/06/02).
