Sustainable mobility project reviewed
Some of the world's biggest energy and automotive firms have produced a report detailing progress towards a vision of sustainable mobility in 2030, a project launched in 2000 under the aegis of the World business council for sustainable development. Ten working groups will flesh out issues that emerged from the group's snapshot of the current unsustainable nature of personal mobility (EED 08/02/02). These include production of indicators to measure sustainable mobility, the influence of policy on mobility, and changes to long-distance mobility demands. A final report will appear in December 2003. See report.
