Danes highlight product policy successes
The Danish environmental protection agency is extolling the country's successful implementation of an integrated product policy (IPP) in a new booklet. The publication outlines the experience of 14 companies (16 in the Danish language version) that have developed, produced or sold "cleaner" products, including textile, printing and furniture manufacturers. It lists "ten tips" on environmental performance and the market. Denmark is a leading proponent of IPP development, a process the government kick started in 1996. Moves towards development of an EU-wide IPP are currently stalled (EED 20/06/02). See booklet.
