Agency advances Europe-wide reporting debate

Technical requirements for developing a Europe-wide framework for governments to fulfil reporting obligations in EU environmental laws have been set out in a report by the European environment agency (EEA). The agency wants to develop what it calls "Reportnet" or "e-Environment" against a background of growing interest in improving the EU's currently "incoherent" reporting requirements. The European Commission is due to propose new requirements next year (EED 04/10/02). See EEA report.
