Chemical firms want EU policy advisory group
European chemicals industry body Cefic called for a European policy advisory group during a European Commission debate about industry policy in Brussels on Monday. The organisation said the group should include Commission, European parliament and industry representatives. Cefic president Eggert Voscherau claimed in a statement that the EU legislative process lacked a proper balance between the three dimensions of sustainability - economic, social and environmental - and that this should be addressed. "Sustainability is not just about ecology. It is also a matter of generating wealth and providing employment," he said. See press release.
