Germany sets guidelines for flex-mex projects
The German government has published guidelines for greenhouse gas emissions-cutting projects under the Kyoto protocol's joint implementation (JI) and clean development mechanism (CDM) schemes. The documents, drawn up with the help of the German economics institute (DIW) and consultants KPMG, are meant to help project managers, investors and authorities ensure that relevant projects are transparent and win public acceptance. The environment ministry said in a statement that it was determined that JI and CDM projects should yield real additional reductions in emissions. See CDM-JI guidelines.
