EU launches endocrine disrupter web pages
The European Commission's environment directorate has launched new web pages providing information on endocrine disrupting chemicals. The decision was taken to inform EU citizens on the bloc's activities relating to these chemicals, in light of the "potential threats... to humans and the environment" that they pose, the new web pages say. Last year the EU launched a €20m research programme on endocrine disrupters (EED 16/05/02). The Commission's strategy on 12 priority hormone-mimicking substances was presented a year before (EED 20/06/01). See endocrine disrupters web pages.
