EU to boost climate change assistance efforts
The EU should do more to help developing countries meet the challenge of global warming, the European Commission said today. In a communication, the EU executive proposed raising the policy profile of climate change in the bloc's development cooperation. Among strategic priorities identified are to support poorer countries in adapting to harmful effects of climate change, in limiting greenhouse gas emissions and in increasing national capacities to respond to global warming.
